Director of Finance – Nonprofit Nursing Home

Position Summary: The Director of Finance oversees all financial operations, including budgeting, accounting, payroll, billing, and financial reporting. This leadership role ensures fiscal responsibility, regulatory compliance, and transparency in support of our mission and strategic goals. The Director of Finance works closely with the CEO, department heads, and Board of Directors to maintain financial health and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
· Manage accounting, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting.
· Develop and monitor annual budgets and financial forecasts.
· Ensure accurate Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance billing.
· Maintain compliance with nonprofit accounting standards (GAAP) and healthcare regulations.
· Oversee audits, internal controls, and financial policies.
· Provide financial analysis and insights into decision-making and grant writing management.
· Supervise and mentor finance department staff.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s or CPA preferred).
· 5+ years of financial management experience, ideally in healthcare or a nonprofit setting.
· Strong knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement and nonprofit accounting.
· Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
· Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
· Accounting and Development experience.
