There are few other members of the RI Society of CPAs who have given as much to the profession as our own William Pirolli, Partner, DiSanto Priest & Co., Warwick. We were proud but not surprised to see Bill named as one of four recipients of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) Sustained Contribution Award this fall. The annual award, which was presented during the AICPA’s fall meeting of the Governing Council, highlights professionals who have exhibited a dedication to donate their time and talents to volunteer service to both the AICPA and the profession overall. The four recipients named, who come from across the U.S., have all served on an Institute committee, task force, or resource panel for at least 20 years, and served as chair at least once of an AICPA group.
“This year’s recipients have dedicated significant time into shaping the accounting profession through their efforts with the Institute,” stated Ryan Screnar, chair of the AICPA’s award committee. He said the example set by these CPAs help the volunteer efforts of all members.
RISCPA extends a big congratulations on a most deserving recognition to our own Bill Pirolli! Bill currently serves as a member of the AICPA’s Board of Directors as well as AICPA Council, and has served on numerous committees of the Institute, including: Small Firm Advocacy, Nominating, Relations with the Bar Association, as well as having served nine years on the AICPA/PCPC Executive Committee, including a term as Chair. Bill is also a past Board President of the RI Society.
The other award winners included: Clark Monroe Blackman II, Kingwood, TX; Albert Ray Denny, Wichita, KS and Annette Nelle, San Jose, CA.
