On April 24th RISCPA hosted its Annual Meeting at the Providence Marriott Hotel. Timed just shy of our Society’s fiscal year end of April 30th, we provided members with a review of happenings at the Society, reported the election results of our Board and Nominating Committee members and recognized newly licensed CPA’s, scholarship recipients and the individuals receiving special certificates for RISCPA’s Emerging Leader’s Program and its “universally” unique Certified Sustainable Value Professional designation.
Serving as steward of this wonderful Society for just over eleven years, I can proudly say that this year’s Annual Meeting was our most robustly attended drawing 200 enthusiastic members and affiliates. And the reason: clearly attributed to the strong value delivered to all connected to RISCPA (and) the energetic direct marketing efforts of RISCPA’s thoroughly engaged professional staff.
RISCPA is delighted to welcome new Board members, Brendan Mc Corry, CPA, Joseph Goldberg, CPA and Karen DelPonte, Esq, (PAM member). Moving up in the executive cadre are David Lucier, CPA, Chairman, John Ayers, CPA, Chair-Elect, Marianne Caserta, CPA, Vice Chair, and Erica Guatieri, CPA, Treasurer and Daniel Bonnette, CPA, Secretary. Congratulations are most certainly in order for Barbara Perino, CPA, and Immediate Past Chair for her leadership. Following their participatory tenures are departing Board members, Richard Botham, CPA, Jay Benson, CPA and Paul Ragosta, Esq (PAM member). And rounding out the elections; congratulations to Nominating Committee members, Ernie Almonte, CPA, Martha Hultzman, CPA, and Cap Willey, CPA.
As a centerpiece of our event, we were delighted to welcome Chair of Independent Bank Corp (Rockland Trust), Donna Abelli, CPA who delivered a memorably motivating commentary particularly inspirational for the individuals newly licensed.
Underwriting the event were Rockland Trust Company, as lead corporate sponsor and the TMF Group as reception sponsor. Many thanks for their strong support.
We’re getting ready for RISCPA’s Annual Charitable Golf Outing, as scheduled for July 16th at the fashionable Warwick Country Club. As of this writing, we’re just about sold out! That said, sometimes we do get cancelations. So, please check our web site and e-mailings for updates. If you’d like to attend the networking portion of the day, we still have openings and would welcome your registration. This year, The Learning Community is our designated principal beneficiary.
Until next time, remember, “There’s never been a better time to be a CPA.”
