NEWS AND UPDATES:
- Governor Raimondo said the state continues to move in the wrong direction with increased numbers of COVID cases and hospitalizations and the positivity rate continues to climb. She will hold a special news conference this Friday and it is widely expected she will announce additional restrictions at that time.
- Rhode Island Commerce Corporation announced $1.75M has been allocated for Business Adaptation Grants. Beginning October 21st. The program, targeted for companies with business models (products and/or services) dramatically constrained and significantly impacted by the public health emergency resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, is designed to support affected businesses in adapting their business models and/or operations in substantial ways. - RESTORE RI Program has been expanded with businesses eligible for grants Up to $30K (double the original grant sizes). Applicants who have already received grants with expenses not covered under their original grant application will be eligible to request additional funding under a streamlined process.
- Governor Raimondo announces $20M Hotel, Arts & Tourism Industry Relief Program. The $20M grant program will include direct support to tourism and hospitality businesses; fund placemaking and resiliency activities: PRESS RELEASE

The U.S. Small Business Administration announced Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL) will be available to small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small businesses engaged in aquaculture, and private nonprofit organizations in Providence County in Rhode Island as a result of drought that began on Sept. 29, 2020.
