2017 Emerging Leaders Network
Building Networks, Defining Your Brand, Communicating with Confidence
Are you looking to build a strong professional network and gain valuable business development skills?
We have developed a 6-month program that will provide you with exposure to local leaders to develop business relationships, gain leadership skills and earn up to 28 hours of CPE professional development credit!
This opportunity is open to CPAs, Attorney’s, and Financial Professionals who are eager to participate in peer to peer learning with a diverse group of like-minded individuals and are highly motivated to reach the next level of their career.
This program will give you the tools and relationships to meet these goals.The unique benefit of this program is the ability to network and form relationships with members for all 3 industries. In order to have a diverse group, our goal is to balance the mix of participants each year. Below is the schedule of classes by date:
· Leadership Challenge Workshop - June 8, 2017 – 8:30am – 4:30p (8 hrs CPE - Wine/Cheese Network at conclusion)
We are all are born, but we are not all born leaders. Our Leadership Challenge Workshop will inspire you to become an exemplary leader in all facets of your life. Based on The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership, you will gain a deep understanding of your capabilities as a leader, increase your confidence and ability to lead more effectively, improve your capability and willingness to provide leadership, inspire your teams to be more engaged and to achieve better results, increase your credibility as a leader, gain more courage (and commitment) to do things differently.
· Navigating a Room – July 20, 2017 – 1 – 4:30 pm (4 hrs CPE – Networking at Conclusion)
Many professionals feel uneasy walking into a room full of strangers. Developing a solid network is a skill that is critical to career success. However, networking can be a struggle for even the most experienced professionals. During this session, attendees will have the opportunity to learn the role attitude plays in networking, discover ways to prepare for networking events, practice techniques to strike up conversations, and learn tips to remember names and break in and out of conversations.
· Managing Your Leadership Brand – August 24, 2017 - 1 – 4:30 pm (4 hrs CPE – Networking at Conclusion)
Have you ever wondered what comes to mind when others hear your name mentioned? Do you really know what they think? Everyone has a personal brand that exists in their community. People are constantly forming impressions based on your interactions with them. Learn how to leverage your strengths and influence the perception others will have about you and the services you offer.
· Communicate with Confidence – September 29, 2017 - 1 – 4:30 pm (4 hrs CPE – Networking at Conclusion)
Does it cause anxiety for you to speak up in meetings? Are you aware of the messages you send through your body language? This session will help you to gain confidence, understand how to connect with different communication styles and connect with your “audience”.
· Managing Conflict & Difficult Conversations – October 19, 2017 - 1 – 4:30 pm (4 hrs CPE – Networking at Conclusion)
Conflict at work is inevitable and we typically put off difficult conversations to avoid conflict. Learn how to prepare for these tough conversations for a positive outcome through simple strategies that you can apply both at work and at home.
· Capturing the Hearts & Minds of Clients – November 16, 2017 - - 1 – 4:30 pm (4 hrs CPE – Networking at Conclusion)
If you have client facing discussions, this seminar is a MUST. Participants in this workshop will discuss and analyze how leaders help their organizations create deeper loyalty with their key stakeholders. The quality and durability of the relationships they create are a fundamental competitive advantage.

Mid-level leaders with a desire to advance their careers by taking on additional responsibilities and key projects while seeking to build relationships within the RI business community.
Nominations will be accepted from April 1 through May 12. Notifications will be sent by May 17, 2017. Kick-off to the series is June 8!
