FAQ - Nonprofit Accounting, Auditing, Compliance and Governance Issues

Description:

The literature specific to nonprofit organizations continues to evolve and become more complex. Using the popular and fast-moving "Frequently Asked Questions" format, this course was compiled from questions asked of the author in their capacity as a technical reviewer and advisor to firms and nonprofit organizations. This course also provides an update on emerging governance issues. Participants will be able to: • Address major accounting and disclosure issues • Understand the governance issues faced by nonprofits in today's highly scrutinized and regulated environment • Address auditing issues that arise in audits under the Uniform Guidance Prerequisites/Advanced Preparation:Basic familiarity with nonprofit accounting Qualifies for the 24-hour Yellow Book requirement. Determination as to the qualification of certain courses for the Yellow Book 24-hour requirement should be made on an auditor-specific basis depending on that auditor's Yellow Book clients. Note that the determination of course qualification is a matter of an auditor's professional judgment in consultation with appropriate individuals in the audit firm. The 24 hours are a subset of the 80-hour requirement.
